update failure : RPM - Yast

Ive attempted to update a program “QGIS” using YAST and i keep getting the following error message >>>>>

Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic

2008-08-05 16:21:23 qgis-plugin-grass-0.11.0-2.8.x86_64.rpm install failed
rpm output:
error: failed to stat /mnt/icy-gis: Stale NFS file handle
error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic

2008-08-11 14:59:29 qgis-0.11.0-2.9.x86_64.rpm install failed
rpm output:
error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic

IIRC, that error comes from either using an older version of YaST software management or from a package not built with the newer method. Try using zypper:

zypper in <file name of rpm>

Zypper should resolve for you, if necessary.
