With the automatic online update, I get the following error message:
Refresh failed: . Error: refusing unsigned file repomd.xml Error: Could not refresh repository ‘Packman Repository’: Valid metadata not found at specified URL(s) History: - Signature verification failed for repomd.xml
I’ve tried refreshing the Packman repository explicitly, several times, and have had no trouble doing so. How can I make this error message go away?
I had the same problem and then I removed the repository and redownloaded the libdvd codecs so that the repository was put back into the list. It then worked and continues to work. It isn’t very pretty or eligant, but it worked… HSorry that I don’t have any better answers, but I am not very Linux command line savvy. I had to figure it all out myself.
If you have trouble with Updater not refreshing, then open a terminal as root, and type in:
zypper refresh
When you get to the Packman repo it will ask you to except the new signing key, you will need to answer “yes” or “y” to two questions, the run Updater again and all will be well (fingers crossed!). This has worked on 5 of my Suse 11.0 systems so far.
I think the fix to the repository key solved my problem. I did various replacements and refreshes, which didn’t work before, but works now. I haven’t seen the error message since then and the yellow triangle icon is gone.
