Well, and what about your network?
Thank you for replly
Sorry but what do you mean network ?
internet is working, it is visible on the screen. or you mean something else ?
Well, the application (which one btw?) says “Network is offline”. The first action then is mostly to check that. And either post here prove that it is indeed not online (and then change your question to something like: My network is not online and I do not know how to cure that), or you prove it is online. Which helps others in assessing your problem.
Verify your networking is working for others…
Post the results of your DG and ping it…
ip route
ping r*esult_of_above*
You might also try running the following which updates your system using the command line
zypper up
You should also post which Desktop you are using (KDE?)
TSU
Thank you for reply
I did what you sad and got this

That worked fine, but I prefer to check system itself for updates, this will be backup plan
Yes I’m using KDE plasma5
I saw this when I first installed Leap 42.1 KDE.
It was fixed up with a reboot after enabling wifi connection for the first time. I think I may also have had to remove the DVD installation media from the repository list.
Also - are you operating on battery or power? By default the updater is disable when on battery. In updater settings you can set it to check for updates even when the power is unplugged.
As you saw, your network is not offline, you can ping your router.
As you also saw the system can reach the internet (and run updates from the repos) because you say (but do not show, thus we have to believe you) that zypper up functioned as expected.
That means that that application is talking nonsense by saying “Network is offline”, because it isn’t. Thus we have to concentrate on that application. Which application is it that shows you that black window with the silly message?
)
it is on power. I even checked to update on battery box, nothing changed.
That window pop ups when I click on update icon.
here is my update log, sorry.

There are some running programs that might use files deleted by recent upgrade. You may wish to check and restart some of them. Run 'zypper ps -s' to list these programs.
Hello. I had the same problem, and it looks like plasma5 updater needs an already running connection when it starts. Whenever I connect manually updater says I still am offline. But enabling an option to connect automatically gets it work ok. I mean, set the connection to start automatically, log off or restart X and voila.
lol, it is working, i have no idea what happened but it works !
For some reason my plasma crashed when it relaunched it was working.
I had same doubt, when I turn on computer kwallet is asking me password, so wifi connection is established only after that. Even firefox needs to close and relaunch to enter sites, so seems I’ve to restart plasma to turn on updates.
I am now seeing this problem with the updater on Plasm 5, claiming the network is offline, using a wifi connection, but it was ok a couple of days ago. It is pure garbage, as the network is definitely online.
The option to “Automatically connect when available” is enabled for the wifi connection. The updater’s option “Check for updates even on a mobile connection” is enabled. The updater is no longer working, except for displaying nonsense. Logging out/in or rebooting just causes the wifi to require reconnection and I can make that happen easily in spite of the stupid Wallet messages that I don’t need (so the WPA2 passkey is required every time > sigh).
I suspect this updater version was introduced just before Leap’s release and not properly tested. So it’s back to YaST Online Update which works normally but with no automatic notification. Unfortunately it’s yet another little piece of evidence that Plasma 5 is unsuitable for openSUSE’s main stable release. It just seems better on Tumbleweed.
If you set the connection to share with all users, that should resolve the problem. Then NetworkManager will connect before you login.
I don’t much care for the updater, so I have deactivated it in tray settings. I left it active on one box, just to see how it does.
Then KWallet seems to be a sticking point. I set an empty password and asked it not to bother assisting me (unchecked “Use Wallet”) and so it does. The connection now is up before Updater starts giving it no excuse to idle. Or maybe just this particular excuse on my particular box.
I will try that since I did disable, as it felt more secure to do so. I thought connection before login happened on previous releases - I must check Tumbleweed on that score.
I have fixed the updater by removing it from system tray and adding back, all via the tray’s settings. Just had silly authorization warnings when it checked for updates. That might go away. It all seems a bit dodgy at the moment.
