Can I dup from 15.6 to 16.0? If not what is the correct method?
Tested a number of times:
sudo zypper in openSUSE-repos-Leap
sudo zypper ref
sudo zypper up
sudo zypper in opensuse-migration-tool
sudo opensuse-migration-tool
Pick Leap 16.0 and off you go.
Thank you. That makes it easy.
It downloaded 2854 files, started to install, produced a screen full of errors that flashed by and then asked me if I wanted to repeat. I found nothing significant in journalctl. But fortunately 15.6 still boots. Where do I look now?
Read man script, repeat your update and show the errors.
Thanks. You have introduced me to a tool I have never used. But I decided it will be faster and easier if I do a new clean install rather than update.
No that doesn’t work either. It only sees one of three drives and wants to install on the wrong drive. Must I take my computer and apart and disconnect the drive to install?
No, just delete the proposal and create on the drive you want to use…
Well that’s hard when I can’t see the left side of the screen with the options because in booted in 720x480. But on the third attempt it opened with a higher resolution and I am on the right road. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
It booted to a terminal. No GUI. Do I need to install XFCE separately?
