Unable to get Chrome browser to install Javascript

This prevents me from watching you tube videos in chrome.

Although it works fine under firefox. :stuck_out_tongue:

getting this message “Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe’s Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.”

Is this 64 bit?

Not sure how to tell?

this is the version :\

How did you install it
Is your system 64 or 32 bit?

uname -a

My OS Suse 11.2 is 64 bit.

I installed it with zypper.

There is no 64bit flash support yet

Just another annoyance. The tabbed browsing is great but I’ll just have to use firefox for flash sites till they correct it.

Search around a bit. I just can’t be bothered with mine, too much hassle.

If you download the beta one from;

All you need to do is copy to /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/ chromium
softlinks to this directory.

I have a lib not a lib64. I also have a file with the same name there,
iF THAT SCREWS UP FIREFOX i’LL be double screwed.

Should I rename the existing one and try?

If you have no /usr/lib64
You have an issue, especially if your are _64 bit. But somehow, now I doubt it.

uname -a

No good. I had to copy back the original file because it broke firefox also.
There is no lib 64.

Will they fix this in an upcoming chrome browser?

Firefox was installed by default does Suse linux 11.2 come with a 32 bit version?

Dude why on earth don’t you let me see

uname -a

linux-bma3:~ # uname -a
Linux linux-bma3 #1 SMP PREEMPT 2009-12-15 23:55:40 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

32 bit NOT 64

I us the rpm form here for goggle
Google Chrome for Windows - Terms and Conditions Agreement

Install manually, remove any stuff you have, repos too related to chrome. Then:

rpm -ivh *packagename

Start yast software management and you’ll get the google repo added in
Flash works OTB

Dude that doesn’t work, after reinstalling chrome I’m back in the same situation.>:(

su terminal

ln -s /usr/lib/browser-plugins /opt/google/chrome/plugins

Thanks the soft link works.

Wish I knew that in the beginning.
Zypper originally installed the same rpm you linked me to.
I uninstalled it with yast then reinstalled the rpm and it ws useless till I softlinked the directories. Why in the world didn’t google just use the default plug in directory?

Sorry mate.
I was thrown because earlier you were on about being _64
But you are not

Anyway I got you there in the end;)

no problem. but my os is 64 bit.
I guess my browser is 32 bit.
64 bit browsers seem to have more problems anyway.
The firefox browser installed by default also 32
bit. Just like most apps the ms office that came with this laptop is 32 bit while the Windows 7 disk was 64 bit.
Or if this is a 32 bit version of Suse not sure why cause I thought I did a 64 bit network install.
In any event this is a 64 bit laptop.
