Unable to enter an Outlook Web Access site using openSUSE 13.1

Warning: Newbie question.
I just installed openSUSE 13.1 (KDE) and working my way around the desktop. What I’m trying to do is access my work email using Outlook Web Access.
https://login.microsoftonline.com/
I can enter my credentials, but then it tells me it can’t find the host.
I have no problem accessing it from Windows 7. (By the way, I switch between boot drives on the same PC).
I’ve tried it with Firefox and Konqueror but have the same issue.
I can browse webpages without a problem.
I don’t believe it’s a credential issue (because I can access it with Windows 7).
I think it’s more like a network or application settings issue.
Any ideas?

I have a Microsoft account but not a outlook mail account
But login works fine here
OS 13.1 + chromium

The website does list compatibility, but doesn’t include Linux.

I have a feeling someone else was complaining about Microsoft

Don’t know if there is a connection

Thanks for your response caf4926.

I also came across this page:

I might try a live distro, Fedora or Mint, and see if it’s any different.

I think that the site uses Activex stuff

GNOME 3.10.1
openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64) 64-bit
Kernel Linux 3.11.6-4-desktop

Although I haven’t used OWA for a long time, it was originally designed to be <cross platform compatible> and indeed a quick Google search for “Outlook Web Access browser requirements” suggests nothing has changed.

Based on your description and depending on how accurate it is, it sounds like a fundamental network issue.
In particular, I highly suspect your machine’s DNS isn’t pointing to your AD DNS which would also be a consequence of not adding your openSUSE to the AD Domain.

Although joining the Domain should not be necessary, it automates your system setup. If you do find your DNS is configured incorrectly and are unable to re-configure, post again.
