HP2133 Mini OpenSUSE SLED 10 (New to Linux & Forums)

Loads email ok from G-mail. Goto Talktalk.co.uk ok, enter u/name p/word ok, writes mail header ok, shows “loading” then never completes. Checked F/F Preferences & Tools. Cant see any clues there! (This e-mail originated on Sys via gmail) The Web e-mail has been working. (New - so need detail list of what to do!!) Any pointers please? Many thanks.

you are very welcome to hang out here and see if someone can help you,
but be advised that you are in the openSUSE forum, and the best place
of you is in the forum for SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) which
is available at forums.novell.com

i couldn’t possibly help as i never seen SLED

Notice that we are users of openSUSE, not of SLED. SLED has its own forums.
We can try to help, but not if we have to get into sled specifics.

I don’t see how that can be related to a laptop problem? This is the
hardware.laptop forum. You don’t say what software you are using to
download email, what errors it says. My XTall ball says that you are using
a web-browser (which?) to access some webmail.

I’m not sure we can help.

Thanks for response. Sorry I’m in ‘hardware’ forum. The browser is M FF; no error status, or too long to wait for “loading” time-out. Think the best solution for me is to migrate back to Windows; whilst not as net-safe, trouble-shooting is very simple logical process. Cheers anyway

cheers and happy holidays also!

no doubt in my mind that the person successful in Linux has more basic
skills and patience than that person who is successful in more costly
and less secure/reliable systems…

despite any ‘strategy’ otherwise, i don’t expect that to change a lot
in the next ten or so years…

That’s your decision. We can not help that who doesn’t want to.
