I recently installed openSUSE Leap 15 (KDE Plasma: 5.12.5, Frameworks: 5.45, Qt verson: 5.9.4, OS: 64 bit, Kernel: 4.12.14-lp150.12.7-default) on my desktop. I am unable to change my trash icon. When I right-click and select “properties” I can see a red folder icon (see https://i.imgur.com/PlwuZEx.png ) in the “General” tab but the icon on the desktop looks like a text file. Given below is my desktop entry for trash
Your help is appreciated.
Are you using a non default icon set?
What happens, if you click on the icon in the properties and hand pick the icon, press OK.
Another thing: did you try logging out and back in?
I am using the default icon set (Breeze)
I selected the icon in the properties, pressed OK, but it does not change. I also tried logging out and logging in, the result is same.
I just discovered that I am able to change the trash icon in “Desktop Containment” layout but not in “Folder View” layout and I prefer folder view layout. Any ideas ?
