Yes, I’m dutch, so my english will not be perfect
I installed openSUSE 11.2 (The dvd(!)) in “Safe Kernel” mode, becouse it otherwise just won’t boot the installer. The only thing I saw was “Loading Kernel”, and after that: Nothing but a black screen…
Wel the installing went good, but I didn’t install the GRUB. I knew what I was doing. I installed openSUSE WITHOUT a GRUB and after the installing I booted Ubuntu 9.10 and gave the command “sudo update-grub” (ubuntu 9.10 is using GRUB2). openSUSE appeared in my GRUB, so I rebooted to boot openSUSE. Remember that the only thing from openSUSE that I could boot was
“openSUSE 11.2 (x86-x64)”. I couldn’t boot a failsafe or something like that.
I booted openSUSE and I saw verry much text passing by, but it halted after 2 seconds. The last rule of text was
“rip_child [verrylongcode]”. And there it halted and nothing happend. I waited 30 minutes, but it remained at that rule.
After 3 reboots the same result. Re-installed openSUSE, same problem!
I formatted openSUSE 11.2 from the hard disk drive, in hope that YOU guys can help me!
