Tumbleweed nvidia no Optix support only Cycles

My Nvidia gpu RTX 3060 works fine on Windows 10 but with tumbleweed no nvidia Optix support only Cycles why is that.

@anton Hi, you need to download the SDK and install as your user, then can point your build to that location for the headers…

But cycles is working within blender3d
What pachage do I need to install

@anton Ahh ok, I use the upstream tarball for blender rather than the openSUSE rpm. They do enable Optix in the build, but even installing the Optix headers (from the sdk), libglfw3 and libglfw-devel only cuda shows up…

I use the blender package not the opensuse rpm also.
But i get no optix support only cycles.
With leap 15.5 it was never a problem.
But i swiched to tumbleweed because I don t like leap 16 they killed Yast.

@anton I’m running blender 5.0.0 here and all good? But, I use cuda and open driver installed via the run files…

I see it now I still have to install the cuda toolkit.

Yes i did sudo opi nvidia and choose
138. nvidia-open-driver-G06-signed-kmp-default
Thanks

Hi, with the blender tarball and nvidia .run driver there is no need to install cuda.
Both cycles and optix work.
Slightly off topic, I find here using optix rendering is faster with just the gpu and cpu is disablled.
When both gpu and cpu enable it takes a bit longer to render. cpu is ryzen 5 7600x 6 corex12. Even with the intel cpu 6 corex12 I have same result.
