I’ve had OpenSUSE Tumbleweed installed before on this computer, using the same ISO as now. As long as I don’t set FIDO2 for the FDE, it will install without issues.
Here are key settings to reproduce the issue:
- Set Language and Keyboard layout
- Set up internet connection (I used wifi)
- Add Main Update, OSS and NON-OSS repositories
- Choose KDE Plasma
- Guided setup:
- Remove even when not needed (all partitions)
- Enable LVM
- Enable Disk Encryption
- Add password and choose FIDO2 authentication
- Btrfs with Snapshots for Root LVM
- Separate Swap but not a separate home (home also causes the installation to freeze, irrelevant of the authentication method)
- Choose time server
- Create user
- Install
Hardware:
- Lenovo Thinkpad X13 Yoga Gen 1 20SX
- Intel i5 10210U
- 16GB RAM
It will always freeze at 90%. Pushing esc does nothing so I can’t provide an output. No buttons are clickable, though the cursor still moves (doesn’t tick but one can move it across the screen). I’ve left the installation for over 2 hours, thinking maybe it was just slow but still nothing.
Anyone know why this happens?
