Tumbleweed install disables graphics card output @ starting udev

I’m trying to install tumbleweed to a new desktop from an 8 Jan 2026 iso
It sees the thumb drive. I choose “Installation.” I see various
words. Shortly after I see “starting udev…” The monitor says “no input”
The computer is an “eBay refurb” entry level Lenovo Thinkstation P8. I have removed the graphics card that came with it (Nvidia T400) and installed an AMD Radeon Pro W7900. I have removed the hard drive that came with it and installed a blank 1T Samsung NVMe hard drive. I also added some RAM and a Thunderbolt card. I expect this is some sort of display driver issue, but I’ve only seen installation problems/solutions for Nvidia cards.

Something to try first. Use the nomodeset kernel boot parameter (to keep the installer in a basic framebuffer mode). This can be done at the installation menu. Select and press ‘e’ to edit the linux entry. Add the parameter at the end of the line, then F10 (CTRL + X) to boot. See how that goes.
