Trouble with Intel devices

OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
MOBO: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4
RAM: 32 GiB
NETWORK: Intel I211 Gigabit Network Connection
NETWORK: ASUS PCE-AC55BT
GPU: Radeon 5600XT

I have a motherboard with an I211 chipset. I can connect to my network, but if I try to visit any site over https I get “SSL_ERROR_BAD_MAC_READ”. I have a USB Ethernet nic that works just fine.

Seperate from this, but might be related is my ASUS PCE-AC55BT. It shows up as a “Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260”. But it does not scan for networks. The wireless network list in Network Manager stays empty. And I cannot connect to existing networks. I have another nic based on an Atheros chipset that works just fine.

So my two Intel networking devices don’t work. The wireless card work in the past, but the wired nic hasn’t worked since I got the motherboard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps the ASUS PCE-AC55BT is not set for dual band use currently. That does not explain I211 issue though.

Look at BIOS, see LAN settings if possible.
Check the following options in the bios like:
Advanced\AMD PBS\LAN Power Enable
Advanced\AMD CBS\XGBE Configuration Options
or other ethernet related options.

And test, if you you can get a connection in the Tool section for bios updates. (Do not make an update, just test if the bios can find images in the net for that)

Sorry yes, ip a instead, apologies.

Should have probably also suggested you better module lookup command here > lsmod | grep intel very important that correct modules load into kernel during boot as I believe Intel does not provide statically booted module.

kernel-firmware-iwlwifi is suppose to be the package I think. Perhaps try reinstalling package with zypper in -f kernel-firmware-iwlwifi and then powercycling. It may be possible to find through Intel but when I briefly looked it was much much older version of the drivers. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005480/ethernet-products.html (kernel 2.4).

Someone else knows more will most likely clear this up with you.

Chip, not chipset.

Intel NICs have different troubles. Try to use Realtek.
Try to update BIOS.
