Touchpad

Hi all,
I’m a noob to Linux world… I’m using a Lenovo Y410n laptop running OpenSuse 11.0… My touchpad (ALPS) is working erratically. The bottom half doesn’t work. I tried editing xorg.conf and change the “Bottom Edge” value to 950. The touchpad still wouldn’t work and horizontal scroll movement scrolls the open program windows…
