Torrent stops connection after few minutes OpenSUSE 11.4

When downloading a torrent after a few minutes my connection speed stops. Browser also. Same problem with Ktorrent and Deluge. The only way to solve the problem is to reconnect to my WLAN.

I use a TP Link WR841N wireless router and a Toshiba satellite pro.
The same setup is OK with windows and ubuntu 11.04 alpha3.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

When you are connected, what is the result of this command :

/usr/sbin/iwconfig

I had the same problem with Ktorrent. The solution was to disable micro torrent protocol. I can provide the screenshot if You won’t be able to find this setting once I get home.

Best regards,
Greg

glistwan: Thanks I will try those settings.

Here’s the screen shot of the setting to keep unchecked. (sorry for polish)
SUSE Paste
I’m not sure what it actually does but I’m sure it helped me and I seemed to have the same problem You have.

Best regards,

I think I’ve posted in several other torrent related threads…

You may be running out of resources. Try decreasing numbers of connections or if your system has sufficient resources enlarging your TCP/IP buffers to support more simultaneous TCP/IP sockets.

Also, <if> it’s a problem but I don’t see a clear sign yet, you may benefit from enabling a different TCP/IP Congestion Control algorithm.
