Too many files open simultaneously

Hello,

I often do editing with Kdenlive (24.02.2), and since I’ve done the latest updates, the software has become unusable (both the flatpak and rpm versions).

I also tried the previous version (23.08.5 (Qt5)) which used to work but now it doesn’t! (So, I suspect a system-level issue…)

The error message is quite surprising:

“Too many files open simultaneously
Failed to open metadata file: Too many files open”

and yet the ulimit command responds with unlimited…

I admit this is quite urgent… Does anyone have any idea where this might be coming from?

Baloo has a history of stealing system resources, which is why I disabled it a long time ago.
