I am a newbie in using OpenSuse 11.1 (found the install and hardware configuration process quit straight forward)
My question is, whenever I am installing software (for instance from add-on cd) Yast Package Repositories is updating Repositories info from OpenSuS’s website.
I do not neccesary want to turn this off, but just want to know how muc time/bandwidth this process of updating will take? :\

It should tell you the download size at it works. Lower down where the progress bar is.
It can be quite big, if like me you have Factory repo’s. Probably not.
So maybe not so much. You can just go to Yast Software Repos and disable online, but leave the dvd source.
But update once a week or so.
It also depends on the speed of your connection; mine has recently been upgraded and updating the repositories takes noticeably less time.
