Thunderbird Lightning

Good Evening,
I am trying to install the application in object but doesn’t work correctly.
There are requirements to fit before install as :
Linux
Software Requirements

Please note that Linux distributors may provide packages for your distribution which have different requirements.

* Linux kernel - 2.2.14 or higher with the following libraries or packages: OK
o glibc 2.3.2 or higher OK
      o XFree86-3.3.6 or higher ??
      o gtk+2.0 or higher OK
o fontconfig (also known as xft) OK
      o libstdc++5 ??
(Many modern Linux distributions only package libstdc++6, which is incompatible with Lightning. Therefore please install the package "libstdc++5" or "compat-libstdc++" on your system before installing Lightning) ??

Most of requirements are ok except :
Xfree, don’t find it anywhere
libstdc++5, don’t find either, neither ++6 but ++43

Can anyone tell me if the application should work with SUSE 11.1 ?
Thank you so far

Hey New_User_X,

One of the easiest methods of installing Thunderbird Lightning is thought the Mozilla repository and using the 1-click installer. Fortunately, there is a 1-click-installer for the file under the software section. This should eliminate most, if not all, of the dependency issues you are experiencing. The following the link to download the 1-click-installer for OpenSUSE 11.1 and a simply step-by-step guide to installing the package in case you run into any trouble along the way. Simply follow the steps below:

Mozilla Thunderbird Lightning 1-click-install

  1. Click the link above and save the file

  2. Open the location where you downloaded the file

  3. Double click the file

  4. Click Next
    on the introduction page

  5. Click Customise

  6. Be sure the the Remain subscribed to these repositories after installation
    box is checked

  7. Click Next

  8. Click Next
    on the package description page

  9. Review the information before installing

  10. Click Next

  11. Click Yes
    to the warning that appears

  12. Enter your root password when prompted

  13. (Now the package will install itself. Agree to download and GnuPG Public keys)

Now the file will be installed on your system.

If you still have any trouble, feel free to ask.

Hope this helps!
