Thunderbird does not respect date format

Hi.

How to make thunderbird respect date format set on system preferences?
I use DD/MM/YYYY and I want it that way… but no… TB likes to show MM/DD/YYYY
It pisses me off. All application respects except TB and there is no (visible) way to change his mind.

Any hint would be appreciated.

A bit of Googling found http://kb.mozillazine.org/Date_display_format
which in turn requires http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file . Mind you
I’ve not done any of this and it shows up as dd/mm/yy for me, as per my
SLED 10.2 KDE 3.5 desktop settings shrug

Have you submitted an enhancement request? I wouldn’t mind this
changing myself, but I’d prefer the ISO standard date format as it is
easier to understand, and universal: yyyy-mm-dd. If you are not
inclined to submit an enhancement request please post back so I can.

Good luck.
