Thunderbird 3.0b4 does not automatically get new mail

openSuse 11.2
Thunderbird 3.0b4

Thunderbird 3.0b4 does not automatically get new mail on startup, even though following settings are in place:

x Check for new messages at startup
x Automatically download new messages

One needs to click the Get Mail button to generate this mail client/server activity.

I believe the adjustable:

x Check for new Messages every X minutes

… is broke as well in this beta.

Like all betas, TB3b4 is explicitly “not for production” use. Why openSUSE chose to include it in 11.2 puzzles me.
Having said that, I’m off to try it out - as I’m using Gmail IMAP nothing bad will happen to my data anyway…

I think they included the Beta version because TB 3.x is going to the
released very soon, so I guess openSUSE users will be able to upgrade to
the relased version via YOU / zypper without having to modify the vendor.

Anyway, report any bug in Bugzilla, and if the error comes from the
openSUSE package (and not upstream) I’m sure the maintainer of TB will
appreciate it

Thx for the advice.
