Three finger gestures

Hi all,

I picked up an Asus Zenbook a few weeks back and currently have everything working perfectly. Using the Elantech’s touchpad, multitouch is working, I can scroll with two fingers flawlessly, and two finger tap works for right click as I want. I can use 3 fingers for a middle mouse click (I can 3 finger click a tab in Chrome to close it, so I know 3 are being recognized).

My aim is to get a three finger swipe (up or down) to swipe between virtual workspaces. I’ve been messing around with things like touchegg, xstroke, and whatever else I could find for gestures. None of those are working.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah, anyone know where to change the timeout of the touchpad turning off while typing? It seems to be like 3 seconds for me, and I could put it down to 1 comfortably, I think.

Thanks!!

Running 12.1 – well, tumbleweed I guess. Let me know if you need any more info!

KDE 4.8 has extensive touchpad customization options in system-settings-input devices IINM. I could set two- and three-finger drag and tap actions in an HP netbook running 12.1 there.

Don’t know about Gnome, however.

Hmmm, well, that may be worth looking into. I’ve always been a fan of Gnome, but haven’t hated KDE. I’ll throw it on and see what can be done.

Thanks!

In that case you may want to try with a liveCD first, preferably one remastered with KDE 4.8, if it exists.
