Taskbar icon and label sizes on Kde Plasma

Hi everyone! New here, so sorry if I’m posting in the wrong area or just missing something plain obvious.

In KDE Plasma 5, I’m using the task manager widget for my taskbar, since I like to see program labels and such. My issue is that the icons are a bit too big for my liking and the labels are too long. I’ve discovered that icons are tied to the taskbar height, and I can’t find much info about the label size at all. Just wondering if there’s some config files I can’t find? All posts related to this topic that I could find are several years old and aren’t helpful anyway. Thanks!

Right click on the Taskbar, then choose the pop up menu choice, “Enter Edit Mode”.
Then, you will see arrows to resize and move. There are other options not shown in my screenshot

.

I see the arrows, but those appear to just change the length of the taskbar? Might just be missing something, but those don’t seem to change the icon size or the length of the labels without shortening the taskbar. Maybe there’s a config somewhere to change icon size?

  1. Correct … the arrows pointing right and left are used to change the length of the taskbar.
  2. Correct.
  3. Unfortunately, the only way to change the size of the icons is to modify the setting: “Panel Height”. Of course , as the height of the Panel is increased, the overall width of the Panel is also increased, to retain the perspective of the icons.

Ultimately, there is no specific setting “Panel icon size” and “Icon Label Size”.
(unless there is some secret hidden low-level configuration option in a text file somewhere).

Alright, thanks for letting me know. I mean, I can deal with the icon sizes and label lengths, but I’d just like to be able to easily customize that stuff, considering all of the customization KDE has built in.
