AMD Ryzen 5 8600G w/ Radeon 760M Graphics
6.18.0-1-default
NAME=“openSUSE Tumbleweed”
VERSION=“20251205”
KDE

Dez 09 21:14:12 localhost.localdomain kernel: amdgpu 0000:0c:00.0: amdgpu: failed to reg_write_reg_wait
Dez 09 21:20:48 localhost.localdomain kernel: amdgpu 0000:0c:00.0: amdgpu: MES ring buffer is full.

What if you rollback to before 6.18?

Thanks. I forgot that i have this option. It works for now.

Okay I’m now at VERSION=“20251205” with 6.17.9-1-default. Used it since last week without Problems hope it stays like that. The Problem appears total random. Guess i just have to wait for linux-firmware and/or kernel 6.18.1+ updates and just test it again. The only Problem i would say is that I’m also not gonna get new program updates(maybe security related).

@grmeins or create a bug report?

I think this is amdgpu / kernel related. nothing opensuse can do? i search gitlab freedesktop and there are a lot of these issues. newest i found is this Making sure you're not a bot! . To be honest i don’t have time to bisect or even how to do it and i don’t want to spend more time into it. Last time i try linux was another rolling release distribution and i also had amdgpu problems. Thought these times are over.

but what is very nice is the option to easily rollback so i can continue using my computer. thanks !

this could be the solution: Making sure you're not a bot!
