System skips login screen

Simply that. I have just installed opensuse with kde plasma. I switched Splash screens to Kuro the Cat and Login screen to SDDM to Breeze, and it stopped working. Switching back didn’t bring back the login screen. That’s the only things I can think of that might have messed it up. Could be something else. What do?

P.S.: Is there a way to have Ctrl+W close a window? It’s a thing I miss from ZorinOS

The description is unclear. Do you mean, you have now autologin enabled?
Simply disable autologin via:
Systemsettings…search for SDDM…->Behaviour

The same way as on every distribution with KDE Plasma…
Systemsettings->Shortcuts->Window Management

You can switch the system default from ALT+F4 to whatever you want.

Is there any relation with your (a bit unclear) description above? When not then please start a fresh topic for each problem (and do not expect people to be clairvoyant, e.g. what is ZorinOS, etc.).

Systemsettings…search for SDDM…->Behaviour

That did it, thank you! No idea how I managed to change that.

The same way as on every distribution with KDE Plasma…

I’ve never used KDE Plasma before, good to know. I will give the shortcuts menu a look.

Thank you for the speedy replies!

No, and I didn’t think it warranted a whole post; don’t want to spam :slight_smile:.

As for the ZorinOS bit, it’s just to add context to the statement. I meant no offense with it.

Either you want to ask something or you won’t. When you want, then start a topic. People are here to help you.

But please only one problem/question per thread/topic. Else things get mixed and confused.

I do not see any offense. But one should explain what one uses and not trust that people know everything.

Hi, welcome to these forums.

To begin with, ZorinOS comes with a heavily modified Plasma setup to match their “instant Windows replacement” promise. The Plasma Hotheys will be your friend to adapt your prefered ones.

In Systemsettings, there’s an Users section. Check / change the settings for your user.
