System not going to standby when I'm away ...

Hello,

I have a problem with my new PC, which is not going to standby/suspend and not activating the Screensaver, when I don’t work for a certain time.

I have set up everything correctly (at least as far as I can see it) in KDE config (power Management and sreensaver) but it just doesn’t work.

Best guess is, that there is something running constantly which is blocking the system to go to standby, but I have no idea what to look for, and how to change that setting.

Any ideas what to look for?

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Jay

opensuse 13.2, KDE 4.14.2

Pure guess Some video programs will stop the screen saver you have any running even just idle??

Well …

I found the reason: KAFFEINETY seems to have blocked the system from starting standby or the screensaver (which is, at least for named programms, the main purpose of the program).
Since reconfiguration did not help, I uninstalled it and now everything seems to work fine …

Still, thanks for the help!

Jay
