I just did a fresh install of Opensuse V13.1 and kde.
Is there a command that creates a system profile of what HW I’ve got, graphics card, graphics driver, network card, network driver, etc.
Thank you.

Install inxi from packman and then do:
inxi -F
It’s nice
YaST->Hardware->Hardware Information
KInfocenter (you should have an icon for that on your Desktop) shows some information as well.
Thanks for the introduction of that app. It is very nice!
You can also do
hwinfo
as root, it gives very detailed output, but is by far not as readable as
inxi.

“a smolt”, I don’t know.
But there was an internet database of that name, with an associated
Linux application. It captured a profile of your machine and sent it to
the database, if you gave permission.
The project died.
See wikipedia for more info.
