Hello guys, am a linux newbie

just got OpenSUSE 12.1 up and running, just want to ask tips
about any administrative or maintenance stuff after the install

tips, etc…

help is much appreciated

I’m not sure what you are looking for.

Yast is good for the majority of admin tasks. Until you have more experience with linux, you probably won’t want to do much admin that falls outside of what Yast can handle.
