Does SUSE 11.0 or 11.1 support Blu Ray drives, both read and write? I’m looking at the Sony BWU 300S unit. Any other recommendations? The drive will be used for recording/playback HDTV programming.
To playback BD-ROMs in Linux, UDF 2.50 support in the kernel is required, which was added in kernel 2.6.26. openSUSE 11.1 shipped with 2.6.27 so 11.1 should be able to read BD-ROMs. AFAIK, Linux doesn’t support writing to UDF 2.50 media at this time.
