Stutter on amdgpu since install

I have a stutter in most openGL apps since install, i have double checked drivers and still cannot figure out why

Can you share graphics hardware and environment details?
inxi -SGaz
That might help others off further advice.

Did you already try to upgrade to the latest snapshot? You are 3 snapshots behind…

Update is in progress as of posting

I have since rebooted and I still have the stuttering, it also seems to occur on some non-OpenGL apps too, primarily plasmashell.

Does the Plasma Wayland produce the same behaviour?

You mention “plasmashell” … plasmashell manages and displays the desktop interface, including panels, widgets, and the launcher. It’s the core process that handles the graphical environment and user interaction, and not some specific GUI application.

Can you be MORE specific?
Like maybe the top 3 apps with the issue(?)

Does this help?

these parameter are correct right?

security=apparmor splash=0 radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1 acpi_enforce_resources=lax amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10

X11 is smoother, but the stutter is still there

Apps include:

  1. Minecraft
  2. Luanti (formerly Minetest)
  3. Plasmashell

Oddly enough, I have not seen this in any web browsers yet I remember fist noticing it when KDE plasma got a new notification style since the dismissal timer was easier to see

I have the stutter in those apps and what is on plasmashell, but not Kwin. I made a post on kde forums and s bug report there but it seems to have stalled and I was starting to thing it was a GPU issue since it doesn’t happen on my other system (intel graphics).

no change noticed…

Then it’s not the issue I thought it could be, I’m afraid :worried:
