Stop the stand by of laptop when viewing a video

Hi all.
If this topic it’s already in this forum please accept my apologies.
I am watching video with SMplayer.It’s very good from my opinion, but after a short while the laptop enters in stand by and i have to enter the password.How can i disable this?

Any chance this is screen saver related? Or power management related? In which case, check your power management application. For example on my laptop with openSUSE-10.3 (kde-3.5.7) I use “kpowersave”.

Maybe good for screen saver/standby/hibernate to have exclude interruptions of
movies (like FF popup blocker exception). Or, movie/video/music players give a
switch to same.

Coders/Hackers hear, here?

Not sure whether it is what you need but Kaffeine sends a dummy click to the computer every so often to fool the software into thinking you are using it.
