Steam with zypper

I was under the impression that I needed to use flatpak to install steam in leap 16 however I used “sudo zypper ref -f” then “sudo zypper in steam” to do just that and it seems to work perfectly. Cs2 is running fine. So far I haven’t installed any other games. I did install the 32bit compatibility packages and modified the bootloader first. I don’t remember those commands because I was just copying what google ai told me the whole time, but I’ve seen them many times and I’m sure there are many here who know exactly what I’m talking about.

I’m not big into gaming, but I have steam from vendor openSUSE installed. I can run a few windows games. I’ve had it installed for years. (Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 3060.)

Yeah I just meant I’ve been using it for that long and still don’t really know anything technical about it.

When this is about Games, why isn’t it in the Games section?

Maybe there they will understand your question (I do not even understand what the question is).

Maybe because I’m just a d******t. I don’t know…maybe it was because I was thinking steam is an app. Yeah, that was it. It should really go into the chat section because it is not actually a question at all.

Actually it was a question. How come I was able to install steam this way when I had learned that was not possible.

Yes, games are application programs, but Games is more precise then just Applications.

You can ask staff to move your thread using the ... at the bottom of a post and then the Flag.
