Steam game downloading crashes entire Internet connection

Steam Version: 1781041600

Attempting to download / install any game will result in the download reaching expected speeds for about 10 seconds, then my entire home Internet connection will crash. WAN IP is dropped. Router will eventually self-correct with a refreshed WAN connection.

Steam works fine on Windows PCs in the home.

Searches reveal that this has been a repeating problem over the years.

Hello forum, I have this problem for the last 2/3 weeks. I intalled openSUSE Tumbleweed back in september, and all ran fine, I could play everything that could be played for Linux in Steam.
