I have Suse 11.1. On login a brief message “dac2/adc does not work - falling over to dac1” displays and then disappears. I have the Ensoniq 1371. I can hear and display video dvds from Netflix, but YouTube, CNN and mp3’s on my harddrive all stutter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks very much.
So you hear sound, but they stutter? If I had to lay money down, I would bet pulse audio could be the cause. Try the fix here:
SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE
and if that does not work, this could be a deeper problem (possibly not solvable by me - someone else from this forum, or a developer’s help may be needed then) and I’ll be asking you then for more information.
