Gnome (not sure wich version, the one that comes w/ the .iso 32 bit.
As far as the m4a - no I have not succesfully gotten sound out of this computer until I did the tests, I just didn’t know if it was becasue of that file extension and maybe mediaplayers I installed through packman with zypper just didn’t cover that.
those 4 repositories only are now active.
I also hate to throw a monkey wrench in this, but please be advise that when I did those previous sound tests, I was in runlevel 3 command line, and NOT a terminal via the GUI. Something motivated me to run the sound tests again through the terminal in the GUI and immediatly the first test did not work.
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory
ALSA lib pcm.c:2211:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM cards.pcm.front
This is what I got, and it never stopped, just kept on going down the screen…did not bother trying the second test.
Iam not seeing Novell/suse-GmbH anywhere at all
gstreamer0_10- libnice ,-plugins-base, -plugin_good, -schroedinger, -utils, and gstreamer-utils, and of course gstreamer0_10 …I do have these…
I would like to also throw out the multimedia installation I did after I set up packman…went into a terminal than typed this
zypper in libavcodec52 ffmpeg libdvdread4 libffmpeg0 libquicktime0 linxine1 linxinel1-codecs libxvidcore4 smplayer vlc w32codecall xine-ui xvidcore … I thought you should kow this…
but again, the sound test worked in runlevel three, and since I have been running opensuse 11.2 I have never gotten sound, this includes banshee…
thank you
