Solving installation stuck on saving installation settings due to bad network connection

I’m installing tumbleweed w/o internet connection and not using online repos. Then it stuck on “Saving Installation Settings” for about 20mins. Then I pressed Ctrl+Alt+F5, using less /var/log/YaST2/y2log to see the end of the log file. I found that it’s still trying to connect to server. After connected to internet, the installation continued.

I’m writing this to log the problem. And I wish the requirement of connection of internet could be improved so that I can run the installation w/o internet and not stuck on this w/o any hints of internet connection on the graphical installation program.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, this seems not to be possible anymore, for a way to do it see

What will work, is install the computer with network connection and not use it anymore afterwards. Yes, you do not get updates etc. but as long as the computer is not connected to the Internet the risk is low.
