Software Update wants to update KDE packages when running GNOME

Hello All,

I just had a simple question that maybe someone could help me with.

DISTRO — OpenSUSE 11.4
ENV — GNOME
KERNEL — 2.6.37.6-0.7-desktop

Today I got the icon on the “Taskbar” that there were updates available. One of the updates is this (below):

kdebase4-openSUSE: Fix build service search provider

And since I’m running GNOME I unchecked that one and installed the rest of the updates that were available. And after a while I wanted to finally get rid of the update Icon from the taskbar so I was just going to update the thing anyway. But when I chose to update it, it said I needed to download these other packages as well (below):

–The KDE Runtime Components
–KDE Base Libraries: Build Enviorment
**

So I guess my question is why would it offer to update KDE stuff when I only run on GNOME? Is there a way to have “Software Update” not ask to update/install KDE Components?

It’s entirely possible that you have kde applications though or at least some libraries

So you think I should just go ahead and let it download the update, even though it wants to download and install those other ones too?

I don’t know what is already installed on your system.

But it’s probably fine. I have to sleep now. If you’d rather wait, let me see the output from su - terminal
