Snapper NUMBER_LIMIT Range

Hello,

In the Snapper configuration file, the default value on my Tumbleweed install for NUMBER_LIMIT is “2-10”. What does the range mean? I have only found documentation that describes it as the maximum number of snapshots to keep, never as a range.

Thanks.

Jacob

I don’t use btrfs, but I see a value of 50 in the “default” file in /etc/snapper/config-examples.

How much space did you allot to BTRFS? perhaps if it is low that may be the reason. Why a range? I don’t know???

Hi
Have a look at the man page for snapper, the “Cleanup Algorithms”
section explains the range concept in how it cleans up.

Hello,

Thank you for the replies, sorry that mine is so late. I’ve had a number of computer related issues that have kept me away from the forums for a little while.
