Slowroll is so lightning fast!

Hey, all.

Gave up to wait for Kalpa, so installed slowroll as a test (have an unused m2 that I forgot about).

Well, feels fantastic, looks fantastic, lightning fast, what can I say, well rounded piece of software. Last time I tried TW (3 weeks ago), crashed in like a day, camera wasn’t working, had issues with the sound … anyway, my pc was “against” TW. Now, all silky smooth.

I still find yast a bit confusing, but checking it bit by bit, learned a lot in the past month not to mess things up … unnecessarily I mean.

Started adding my apps, lost a couple of hours on the printer (network printer, brother, should be easy, but it’s not, finally gave up, connected it to usb and that’s that).
Have no freaking clue why I waited so much to test slowroll on bare metal. Anyway, will keep an eye on the forum.

Great job, openSuse team! Hat’s off, great job indeed!

My setup for now:

  • Leap 16 on media/server pc.
  • Slowroll on desktop.
  • Laptop still waiting for Kalpa. Until then, Kinoite 44 will do just fine.

Im using tumbleweed and it’s good on a 2010 laptop! If you want to use TW make a lock on the most stable Wi-Fi driver so it can’t break with any update and any important driver

Hmm, good to know, thanks!

Ok, filed my first bug report. Worked today on slowroll, all my apps working as expected, happy so far.
I think the bug is some glitch in kde, but will leave it to experts to come up with the solution. The good thing is the glitch is perfectly reproducible.
