Slow connection speed

Hi Everyone,
I have just installed Opensuse on my desktop, after moving away from Kubuntu.

The installation was perfect, everything was smooth sailing and I can almost kiss the screen after installing GNOME desktop.

The only issue I have is the internet speed is throttled down to around 140Mbps for both upload and download, using speedtest.net.
This is for both Wired and WiFi.

While the Asus laptop with recently installed Opensuse GNOME, my Motorola and other devices are reading around 500Mbps for download and 200Mpbs for Upload, which is in concert to the Internet plan I am running.
And I had the 500/200 speeds running Kubuntu on this same desktop

Can you advise if there is any settings or Terminal commands I need to change, enter, etc. please.
And what would you recommend based on the hardware specs below.

Ideally you should perform an iperf test on the LAN to establish a baseline.

You will need another capable host to test with.

Hi Deano,
Thank you for getting in touch,

Please find below the result;

Thanks, and do you think you can manage an iperf test?

How do I do that?
I am still learning how to work around linux. I wouldn’t mind diving in the deep end

Read the link I gave you in my first reply. You can ask further questions if something is not clear. It is all part of the learning.

Hi Deano,
How have you been?

Is there an alternative to this troubleshooting method?
It is coming up that I need to have 2 machines which I do not have

Do you have a mobile phone you can test with? If so, that can be used as a second host for iperf testing.
