sleep disappeared on lock/logout widget

on my laptop TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 15 v4 with 2Tb ssd disk, 58Gb /home EXT3 partition, 32Gb RAM,
processor= Intel Core i7-8565U, RAM=32Gb, 2TB SSD disk
using plasma 5.17.0 the lock/logout widgt doesn’t show no more the sleep option, right click on it and configure the sleep option result checked but grey, how can I have the sleep option again in my lock/logout widget?

Like I’ve said many times before: your repos.
In other words: don’t try to create some homebrew Tumbleweed from a Leap install.

Hi, here is my repos:

I don’t want to create some homebrew Tumbleweed from a Leap install, I only follow the opensuse suggestion to have the latest kde release as here suggested
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories

KDE Frameworks 5, Plasma 5 and Applications Latest releases of KDE Frameworks 5 and Plasma 5, optionally Applications as well.
If you want test and/or use the latest release, you can use this repo.
Tumbleweed users will get new releases as soon as they're available, and are usually published to standard repositories in a matter of days.
Note for openSUSE Leap users: Leap ships with a Qt LTS release, which is not recent enough for the newest Plasma. So to use KDE:Frameworks5, KDE:Qt5 is required. Some applications from third-party repos might not be installable as they require the specific version of Qt shipped with Leap.
  Version: Leap 15.1
 Compatible Qt 5.x: https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Qt5/openSUSE_Leap_15.1/KDE Frameworks 5: https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Frameworks5/openSUSE_Leap_15.1/KDE Applications (optional): https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Applications/KDE_Frameworks5_openSUSE_Leap_15.1/

Please have a look at the repos yourself: A mix of 15.0 and 15.1 repos. And, apart from the KDE repos, there’s also wolfi323s Frameworks repo.

@pier_andreit

Ignoring for the moment the “interesting” mix of repositories…

There are other reports of the sleep option missing in Plasma 5.17, take a look at this bug report for example.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413313

You may wish to follow that bug to see what the outcome is.

Hi knurppht and manythanks, sorry, the alias I don’t know why are referred to 15.0 but the repositories are for 15.1, if I used the correct command these should be the repositories with url

pla4-TW:/home/pla # zypper lr -u

maaaaanythanks, I’ll follow it :slight_smile:

With > 30 repos, there is no way to say anything decent about your issue, not even if you suffer from that KDE bug. I see f.e. that you use kdepimlibs4 from Wolfgang’s repo. Instead of libkdepim that belongs to Plasma 5.17.
Just as a check I added the 3 KDE related repos ( not Wolfgang’s ) to a Leap 15.1 VM, dupped from those repos ( i.e. did the Switch system packages / vendor change ) and it does not show this issue.

FWIW: If I were the maintainer of a package you’d file a bug report on and knew about this repo config, I’d decline the bug report.
FWIW2: If one asks for support, the chances of success are as good as the info provided. Your naming of the repos is confusing.

Hi
Why not just run Tumbleweed from the get go? Why do you need the Tux repositories, is this some sort of proprietary system? For example, libdvdcss2 changes once in a blue moon, just download and install from a local repository. A lot of those repositories are for development/testing, so you are by default creating some sort of 15.1/Tumbleweed hybrid system, that as pointed out should you have an issue and create a bug report it would for sure be declined.

I don’t know, in the previous laptop was becouse tumbleweed didn’t support nvidia repositories, now I havent nvidia so may be I could run tumbleweed, I’ll think about it manythanks :slight_smile:

My laptop is a tuxedo laptop, tuxedo suggest to have theyr repo, I suppose opensource becouse is in opensuse, in the repo there are only few packages and will be the one for backlight keyboard settingpla4-

hi, in this laptop I don’t have nvidia so I switched to tumbleweed following the opensuse guide, everything seems to works fine but the sleep command in the lock/logout widget is always grey, and then I installed packman and dvdcss repositories and switched, is there some suggestion for the repositories to be used in tumbleweed? what repos for the software not present in the four tumbleweed official repos and nor in packman?

Hi
I would disable the libdvdcss repo… So can you list the software that is not present?

I use just the defaults and any extra packages are downloaded and installed manually.

PS, since this is about Tumbleweed now, suggest a new thread :wink:

after the last upgrade sleep reappeared on Tumbleweed :slight_smile:
