Hello, according to the information above, using Sle Micro in Rancher is free. Where can I verify this information? I haven’t been able to find it in the official documentation.
I’m looking to build an immutable operating system using Elemental for use in Rancher. However, I’m concerned about the underlying Sle Micro and hope there won’t be any associated costs.
Thank you for any answers! Sorry for my poor English.
Hello, thank you for your response above! However, as mentioned in the original post, Leap Micro 6.X has removed the relevant components, so it cannot be used for Elemental as I had intended. The reason is precisely that SLE Micro for Rancher does not require any subscription. That is why I needed to verify the source of the information…
Thank you! Sorry for my poor English.
I would suggest asking in the SUSE forums at forums.suse.com. That’s where SUSE’s commercial offerings are supported, and they should be able to answer your questions about SLE Micro.
Thank you for your reply! Since the post above was from this forum @lkocman , I initially preferred to ask my question here. However, if it’s appropriate, I’d be more than happy to post on the SUSE forum. Thanks again!
The news that’s posted here comes from a newsfeed, but the article itself is saying that older versions included a SLE repo (as there was a backports repo in Leap 15.x that was sourced from SLE15). Leap 16 doesn’t do that, and that’s what the news article is saying (is, it used to be included, but it isn’t, at least that’s the way I read it). But because you’re asking about SLE Micro, that’s firmly in the SUSE forums perview.
