Microsoft ended the distribution of Skype via rpm and deb in November 2023. It is only available via Snap or Flatpak. This was announced by Microsoft last year…

I suspect this means Microsoft doesn’t want us to use rpms. Comments?
Snappy (or Snap) is a distribution-agnostic package management system developed by Canonical. The packages called snaps are self-contained applications running in a sandbox with limited access to the host system.
Warning: Snap does not come pre-installed on openSUSE systems.
I’m using the Flatpack version from Flathub repo without problems. It’s updated to the latest version (8.119.0.201, May 7th), so there is no need to add snaps to your system.
