I’ve been using signal-desktop for a long time as a replacement for Skype. It’s been about 1 month since I’ve had a warning that my version of Signal has expired.
I checked the repositories and found that the latest available version 8.5.0 is expired.
Does anyone know anything about this.

There are also various threads regarding this topic. You may use flatpak or appimage.
The Signal packages are only available for Debian distributions.
You’ll have to use the AppImage → <https://signal.org/download/>
Linux AppImage Install Instructions
# 1. Download AppImage:

# 2. Download our official public AppImage signing key:

gpg --import signal-appimage.asc
# 3. Download signature and verify AppImage:

# The `gpg --verify` command will show the following output for a good signature:

# gpg: Good signature from "Signal Messenger, LLC "
# You will also see a warning about trusted signatures for that key. This is normal
# and expected unless you manually mark the key as ultimately trusted (e.g. using

# 4. Mark the AppImage as runnable then run it:
chmod +x signal-desktop.AppImage
./signal-desktop.AppImage
