Shy openSUSE users

richyf89, thanks for your input. Don’t worry, I won’t lose anything. I’ll give it a shot. I’m not using Gnome or KDE anymore, I’ve switched to LXDE. It’s a bit buggy, rough around the edges, but smokin’ fast, I love it. So I may try out Gnome/OpenSUSE, and then see if it’s super-easy to try out LXDE. I used to use OpenSUSE a lot. I did all of my initial Xen testing with it, so I’m surely not opposed to taking a look at 11. Really, I didn’t even know 11 was out.

I am not familuar with this desktop environment… But I think I used it once from the gOS live cd… About a year ago I used a big spindle of blank cds on trying out many distributions… I find linux very amazing… I wish I grew up using more linux when I was younger,

The only problem I have with linux is my lack of knowledge when it comes to the terminal

I didn’t really follow. What reflects the user friendliness of what?

As the OS is user friendly as in

1. people usually figure out things themselves if they have experience with Windows, so less or no forum visits/registrations
2. More GUI driven configuration with very little need, if any, to fiddle around with terminals and config files

This could contribute to the feeling that OpenSUSE users are “shy”.
