In 11.4 I used gnome and shotwell to import photos from my camera. Now in 12.1 I use xfce, but
shotwell does not trigger. Worse, if I start shotwell manually I see no option to import from
How do I do it?
The help for shotwell says:
Importing from a camera
To import photos from a digital camera:
Connect the camera to your computer and switch it on. Shotwell will detect it and list it in
Select the camera in the sidebar. Previews of each photo on the camera will be displayed.
If you like, you can choose a set of specific photos to import. To do this, hold down the Ctrl
key and click to select individual photos. You can hold down Shift and click to select a range
of photos too.
Click either Import Selected or Import All. The photos will be copied from the camera and saved
on your computer.
But the camera does not appear in the sidebar. Instead, a disk icon appears in the desktop,
which I can use to mount the camera. When I do mount it, then does shotwell display the
camera. This is not what I had to do in 11.4. Regression, or xfce problem?
