Hi, continuing with QEMU/KVM I have been able to save my NM configuration files and was able to romp through the W10 VM installation with bridge connection and using mobo nic and usb dongle. After a few abortive attempts I was bale to get the screen resolution right so went on to W11.
With some guidance I was able to install W11 without any problems using the virtio-win-0.1.248 download as with W10 but darned if I can find the Red Hat device driver. Where should I be looking please?
@Budgie2 Device Manager, then select the display device, right-click and update driver, use custom and then select the mouned iso image and make sure it search sub directories is checked…
I am sorry to report that I still cannot get my screen resolution working. I mis-posted my thread above. The problem was not finding the Red Hat driver but getting it to work.
When I am at the stage in W11 VM Device Manager where I am updating the Display adaptors drivers I have installed the Red Hat driver so this is shown as Red Hat QXL controller but there is an exclamation mark on it and Properties reveal that
“Windows cannot verify the digital signature…”
I have found many threads about this with several remedies but they seem to refer to a VM installation on a Windows machine. I have yet to find a solution for a VM build on a Linux machine.
I have absolutely no problems with Windows 10 VM but Windows 11 has me stuck. Can anybody help please?
