HI.
OS opensuse 12.3 63bit.
I have the Brother DCP-140W installed, and it works ok via wireless on my local network.
As the printer is an All In One, I also want to be able to use it’s scan function.
For that, I have installed software/drivers from the Brother support site, but have had no luck getting the scan up running.
Are there any install guide somewhere on the opensuse site for it on how to set it up for scanning via the wireless network.
Thanks in advance
Erik

Sorry, it is the DCP-J140W I have here.
rpm -ihv --nodeps brscan-skey-0.2.4-0.x86_64.rpmPreparing... ################################# [100%]
package brscan-skey-0.2.4-0.x86_64 is already installed
rpm -qa | grep brscan4brscan4-0.4.1-3.x86_64
I have chosen the brscan4 as it's the one for the printer.
rpm -ihv --nodeps brscan4-0.4.1-3.x86_64.rpm
Preparing… ################################# [100%]
package brscan4-0.4.1-3.x86_64 is already installed
rpm -qa | grep brscanbrscan4-0.4.1-3.x86_64
brscan-0.2.4-0.x86_64
brscan-skey-0.2.4-0.x86_64
linux-z96b:/home/lajka2/Brother # brsaneconfig4 -a name=SCANNER model=DCP-J140W ip=192.168.1.14
brsaneconfig4 -q | grep SCANNER
0 SCANNER "DCP-J140W" I:192.168.1.14
And it works now. I more carefully read the Brother links this time
Many thanks for making me do that
Erik
