Saving Yast rpms

When I started using what is now called openSUSE at version 10, Yast had a checkbox that said do not save source packages after installation completes. That has been gone for some time now though I don’t understand why. I now find that I need to save certain packages but do not know how to do that.

Assuming that they are automatically deleted at the end of an update or an installation, is there a way to prevent that from happening and then where would the packages be located so that I could copy them out and save them for future use?

Have a look at “man zypper” (and search for keep-package) or edit the *.repo-files in /etc/zypp/repos.d/.

Also have a look at /etc/zypp/zypp.conf.

Thanks. Got them saved.
