i just installed tumbleweed 64 bit and have several questions, and would like to know where i would post a thread to ask them since most of them would fall into different categories? thanks
Welcome to the openSUSE forums.
Your question will probably fall into different categories. I assume the titles of the several sections are self explaining enough. Also, when you go into one, there is a short description at the top.
And one question per thread, else there will be a lousy discussion that nobody will follow anymore. Some will even not use their time to read such a multi question thread to the end, but go elsewhere.
The crucial point is that you have a problem/question and that thus you want to draw attention of the best people to help you. Thus starting a thread in the best fitting section and giving it a title that lures people with the correct knowledge into opening the thread and start reading it, is in your own interest.
Hi, and welcome aboard.
Do not post the questions together in one post/thread. Instead, create a new thread for each question, will make it easier for others to help you. Mostly, you can sense what is the right forum to post the question. If you make the wrong choice, do not worry, one of the mods will simply move it to the correct forum.
Enjoy.
thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
Exactly, you said it! Posting different questions as different threads will ease the users to participate effectively. Otherwise, you will get confused about it. I agree, completely, with you.
yes you can search for the topic you want to question or instead make a thread for the question in the relavant topic.
