Interesting topic. I´ve been looking for a software that is able to connect to a win* PC lately. Looks like I wanted to some serious hacking here, right? Partially.
Main point is to be able to (secretly) monitor a network of PCs with different operating systems.
This is what I throw in: Does such software exist? To get that straight: I do not mean to secretly install the software as well - it should be possible to completely remote control the PC that the software connects with. Let me throw this in: Does such software exist for OpenSuse? Recommendations, opinions and concerns are welcome.
It does. But your intentions are suspicious to me.

Thanks for your reply. I admit that my discription was not very well chosen. “Forensic” in title doesn´t contribute to show my intention in a better light either.
In other words: The reason I´m looking for such software is to be able to remotely shut down computers from a small house network that we set up here, being able to completely administrate those through our network. Of course users of those PCs will (and should) have the right to agree to the software installation as well.
I respect your concerns. Even with the most reasonable arguing, anyone reading this would still be suspicious. Over here where I am right now, laws exist to prohibid intrusion of foreign PCs and protect data. All I can tell you is that we are very aware of those laws and the software is not meant to be used for a unethical purpose. Every software out there has two sides - you can use it either for good or for bad. We chose the first and that´s possible is asking for the name of the software. If you don´t trust me, so be it - I can´t change your minds.
